LifeSciences@work start-up support

NGI recognises the difficulties facing start-up companies in the fast-moving life sciences field. To support aspiring entrepreneurs and new companies, NGI has initiated LifeSciences@work, a coherent programme of activities that tackles all the necessary issues, ranging from turning ideas into business plans to business development, financing, networking and personal development.

Coaching and training

Venture Challenge:
In two 3-day workshops, you are challenged to focus your business idea to create optimal customer value and to improve your 'pitch'. The team with the best venture plan and pitch takes home €25,000.
BioBusiness Masterclass: An executive programme that covers general management and entrepreneurial skills as well as specific life sciences business-related topics.
New Venture: A business plan competition in three separate rounds with prizes ranging from €500 to €20,000. Participation is open to anyone who aims to set-up a new, innovative company.

Financial support

Life Sciences Pre-Seed Grant: Worth up to €250,000, the Pre-Seed Grant provides superb prospects for those involved in applied research and those looking to commercially exploit their fundamental research by starting up a new business.
BioGeneration Ventures: A seed fund for the next generation of life sciences companies. The BioGeneration Ventures team is specialised in evaluating and managing early-stage companies.
Mibiton: The three Mibiton investment funds, share, science and solo, enable start-up and early stage companies in the life sciences sector to get access to high-grade equipment and facilities.

BioBusiness Entrepreneurs:  An informal network through which both young and experienced Dutch life sciences entrepreneurs can share knowledge and expertise.
