Fellowship Programme

The Fellowship programme stopped accepting new applications as from January 1, 2008.

The aim of the Fellowship programme was to exchange knowledge at the heart of genomics & bioinformatics research. By supporting scientists while they worked abroad for a certain period of time,
they had the opportunity of gaining new skills and expertise.
In total 33 fellowships were awarded to talented genomics researchers. The last of the scientists abroad on the Fellowship programme will return mid 2009, bringing back new knowledge to their area of research in the Netherlands.

The Fellowships were awarded in the broad area of genomics (including proteomics, structural genomics, transcriptomics, etc.) and bioinformatics. It was possible to spend up to a maximum of 12 months in a foreign laboratory or institute. For bioinformaticians, special Fellowships were available at the European Bioinformatics Institute EBI in Hinxton, UK.
