Two NGI Booster initiatives started

Tuesday, December 06, 2011

Earlier in 2011 NGI awarded four start-up (Booster) grants to establish new initiatives in areas of science which show great promise in a Public-Private Partnership context.

Two of these held their kick-off meetings this fall  the Centre for Improving Plant Yield (CIPY) and the Platform for Green Synthetic Biology (PGSB). CIPY is focused on determining key molecular factors determining plant growth and crop yield. PGSB has been designed to exploit green/white biotechnology in a synthetic biology context to design novel industrial microorganisms producing high value compounds.
