Detectives try their hand at DNA research

The Mobile DNA lab on forensic DNA research was, in early May, introduced with great success at the Police Academy, the training centre for criminal investigators.

The laboratory course ‘The puzzle of the peaks’ will become a fixed feature of the course. "By doing it yourself, forensic DNA research suddenly becomes a lot more understandable," said one of the crime-scene investigators on completing the course.

The Forensic Genomics Consortium Netherlands  is studying whether this interactive course can also be incorporated in the educational programme of lawyers in the criminal law chain.
