Strong interest for Life Sciences Pre-Seed Grant

The Life Sciences Pre-Seed Grant makes amounts of up to € 250,000 available for the valorisation of fundamental research. Researchers with promising results within the Life Sciences field can use this as a first step towards a spin-off company.

The first Pre-Seed Grant round which covered the entire Life Sciences field closed on 27 October. A total of 26 proposals were received, 5 of which from the NGI Genomics Centres. Nearly all proposals (23) fell under the theme of Health. The results will be made public at the end of February. Two further rounds will take place in 2010: the deadlines are 2 March and 5 October.
