On 26 May 2010, Naturalis was the setting for a symposium in honour of Bartha Knoppers, which was organised by the Centre for Medical Systems Biology.
Bartha Knoppers (McGill University, Montreal, Canada) last year received a Visiting Scientist Stipend from NGI. As a result, she will be visiting the Netherlands very regularly during the coming years in order to contribute towards research into, and discussion on, developments in genomics and life sciences. Knoppers is a lawyer who is involved in many international initiatives and committees that regulate and discuss the handling of data stored in biobanks.
