The VIRGO consortium received the NGI Valorisation Award 2009 for its success in industrial deal making. Building upon this, the consortium will set up three new vehicles for knowledge valorisation in infectious diseases. Firstly, an IP clearing house for vaccine-related ideas will enable participants to more efficiently design their studies and consequently their IP portfolio and future industrial contacts and contracts. Secondly, a collaborative effort for coaching and business development in the anti-viral field will be started. And thirdly, the consortium will start a new European initiative on wildlife research and transmissible diseases.
