This is the title of the new leaflet the Netherlands Toxicogenomics Centre (NTC) recently published. The need for better methods for testing, which do not involve any animal testing, coincides with the increasing understanding of toxicity and the way in which we study
toxic processes.
New techniques to map genetic and molecular processes – the so called ‘omics’ techniques – give us completely new insights in the how and why of toxic effects. This toxicogenomics approach is the heart of the strategy of the NTC.
