Geert Kops, Cancer Genomics Centre (CGC) researcher, is one of the four Dutch Awardees in the Biomedical Sciences in the second round of the ERC Starting Grant competition. These European grants are intended to stimulate innovative research and provide young researchers with the opportunity to further establish their own research group. Kops will use his €1.5 million grant to study genome stability in relation to cancer, in particular the dynamic control of chromosome segregation by kinetochore signalling pathways.
