Change in the NGI Management team

Dr Bernard de Geus has been part of the NGI management team since the inception of NGI in 2002, fulfilling the role of Manager International affairs and Project development . As of mid June 2007 he will accept a new challenge; Bernard will be the Director of the Top Institute Green Genetics, a new governmental initiative on agro-food biotechnology.

During his time at NGI, Bernard has been responsible for all activities pertaining to scientific research, and he has been instrumental in establishing the Genomics Centres of Excellence and several new initiatives, such as the Netherlands Metabolomics Centre (NMC). In addition he coordinates the European Research initiative ERA-PG. Furthermore, his strong focus on research policy and strategy development has ensured a prominent position for various NGI centres on the European stage. His dedication, creativity and energy will be missed.

In the meantime, current affairs will be handled by various members of the NGI team.
