The Netherlands Genomics Initiative warmly invites all genomics & bioinformatics researchers to participate in the NGI Venture Challenge 2008.
The NGI Venture Challenge is an excellent opportunity for potential spin-offs to receive coaching and advice on various business aspects. It helps them turn a promising idea into a sound business case. The best business venture pitch receives an attractive prize. Business cases that meet the evaluation criteria will be seed-funded by NGI.
All too often research findings fail to be translated into new products or services. NGI aims at changing this by launching the NGI Venture Challenge 2008:
- A combination of a competition and a coaching event, originating from the business world and run successfully at other research institutes.
- Experienced business coaches assist researchers in transforming their findings into venture plans.
The programme
Pre-screening of submitted ideas; first three day workshop with the selected teams; coaching period; second three day workshop; challenge session and selection of the winner.
The outcome
A sound business case that allows for a convincing presentation to investment partners and attracts early-stage funding.
