Colja Laane cuts the first of 5 large cakes for the 150 scientists of the Kluyver Centre for Genomics of Industrial Fermentation. This, during the opening of the 6th Kluyver Centre Symposium in Noordwijkerhout on 27 January, marked the festive start of the new programme of the Kluyver Centre 2008 - 2012.
Besides the presentations of the Kluyver Centre projects, the participants were treated to dynamic lectures by guest speakers:
- Willem Stiekema (CBSG)
- Matthias Heinemann (Synthetic Biology, ETH)
- John Adams (Risk perception, UCL)
- Herman Pel (genome sequences, DSM)
