Two research groups of the University of Groningen, which are related to the Netherlands Proteomics Centre, have been awarded a € 4 million grant by NWO and ZonMw for setting up a centre for systems biology.
The centre will study the link between energy metabolism and ageing. The knowledge acquired will be linked to findings from the LifeLines study. LifeLines is the project that aims to map the relationship between behaviour and health in tens of thousands of inhabitants of the northern Netherlands over a period of 30 years.
