Netherlands Proteomics Centre theme leader Shabaz Mohammed has been awarded a Vidi grant from NWO for his research Decoding Cellular Communication.
With this 800,000 euros for a five-year period, Mohammed can start an own line of research and build a research group.
Internal communication is key for cells to perform their function. Stem cells can become any cell type if the right signals are generated. Mohammed's research aims to develop tools to decode internal communication of stem cells during such a transition.
