On 16 April, Jan Douwe Kroeske, together with the jury, quizzed six finalists of the high school competition Imagine.
During a period of five months, groups of high school students, making use of the Life Sciences, worked with scientists on solving problems in developing countries. With the plan 'Orange peels as sustainable raw material for stimulating the local economy in Colombia', four pupils of the Johannes Fontanus College in Barneveld won first prize: a plane ticket to Colombia and € 25,000 to realise the project.
