NGI together with the NWO Divisions for Chemical and Physical Sciences have started a joint Forensic Science programme.
Last fall, researchers from chemistry, computer science, mathematics and genetics were invited to submit pre-proposals. In February a total of 49 applications had been received.
The Forensic Science programme focuses on six relevant research topics. The programme aims to strengthen research in the field of forensic science in the Netherlands, thus creating new and improved technologies and research. Furthermore the programme aims to form a Dutch community of researchers and users in the field of forensic sciences.
The applications are currently reviewed by an international committee. The jury expects to have made a selection soon. The selected researchers will be invited to submit a full proposal.
The deadline for submission of full proposals is 10 May 2011.
