Teachers from the Dutch HBO (higher professional education) schools offering a bioinformatics BSc programme gathered at the Hanzehogeschool Groningen for a teacher network meeting, organised by the Netherlands Bioinformatic Centre.
During two days they shared experiences and teaching material. Collaborative actions were planned, for instance for attracting more students and for starting a virtual teacher community. During the second day the 19 attendees followed lectures and hands-on sessions about Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). In this way they learnt how to adapt their curriculum to the latest findings and technologies.
