Forensic Genomics Consortium kicks off

On 19 November 2009, the Forensic Genomics Consortium Netherlands (FGCN) officially started with an opening symposium at the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) in The Hague. International experts described the increasing impact of genomics research on forensic science and the unique position of the Netherlands in this field. 

FGCN director Peter de Knijff and the other partners presented an outlook on how genomics research might impact solving a case in 2012. The book “De Essenties van forensisch biologisch onderzoek; Humane biologische sporen en DNA” was presented by the NFI.
