Together with the Freudenthal Institute, the Netherlands Bioinformatic Centre (NBIC) organised its first-ever training for high school teachers last fall.
During the training, the teachers were challenged to use bioinformatics in their classes. In order to prepare appropriate lessons, they were supported by NAVIGENE, a scheme that helps in navigating through bioinformatics.
Next to the teachers, also a number of high school students participated in the training. The participants, teachers as well as students, were all very enthusiastic about the training. The organisers plan to host a follow-up meeting in due course.
