Students from the University of Delft have won a Gold Medal and
the "Award for Best Information Processing Project" in the international Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition, held from
30 October to 2 November at MIT in Boston. The team from Delft designed a bacterium that can pass on messages to surrounding bacteria. The Netherlands Genomics Initiative (NGI) was one of the sponsors of the team.
