Because of the success of the first edition that was awarded last year, the Designers & Artists 4 Genomics Award (DA4GA) will be continued in 2011.
The second call to participate has been made public on June 16th, during the exhibition opening of the three winning projects of last year's award at Naturalis, Leiden.
Call is open
The closing date for the call will be September 12th, 2011. Three winning projects will be awarded 25,000 Euro for the realisation of the project in close collaboration with one of sixteen NGI Genomics Centres.
The Designers & Artists 4 Genomics Award highlights and explores the exciting and novel possibilities between design, artistic practice and Life Sciences. DA4GA aims to stimulate emerging designers and artists to delve into the world of bio-art, and produce new work together with the Netherlands most prestigious Genomics Centres, in the field of sustainability, food, health, bio-informatics, agriculture, and safety.
The Designers & Artists 4 Genomics Award is initiated by the Netherlands Genomics Initiative and Waag Society, in collaboration with the generous support of the Centre for Society and Genomics and presented at NCB Naturalis.
