The State Secretary Sharon Dijksma opened the Science
Node Wetenschapsknooppunt Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen (WKRU) on 24 August 2009 in Nijmegen.
The WKRU is a unique partnership between the university, primary school teacher-training colleges and primary schools. Purpose of the node, the first in the Netherlands, is to stimulate children aged 6-12 to participate in experimental and investigative learning so that they can discover and develop their talents at an early age. Initiators are the Centre for Society and Genomics (CSG) and the Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences (NCMLS).
