From 2003 onwards, the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) is presenting its award in recognition of individual achievements in human genetics.
Gertjan van Ommen of the Centre for Medical Systems Biology received the 2011 edition of this award at the European Human Genetics Conference 2011 for his work on RNA, and gave the ESHG Award lecture.
