Marjolein Kriek was the first woman in the world who had her complete genome sequenced.

In 2008 artist Bas van Vlijmen created a statue that symbolises the genome of Marjolein Kriek. The statue is composed of a pile of computer printouts of Krieks genetic code.

The statue named "REBOOT" has previously stood temporary in Rotterdam, opposite to the statue of Erasmus. Now the Centre for Society and Genomics acquired the piece of art, and has donated it to the beta faculty in Nijmegen.

On 23 June 2011, the statue was unveiled, of course in the presence of Marjolein Kriek herself.
