On 27 October, team 'Kies de aanval!' of the LUMC won the first Labyrint Audience Award (Labyrint publieksprijs) with 38.5 percent of votes.
This team includes both clinicians and researchers, who are all involved in the migraine research conducted within the Centre for Medical Systems Biology (CMSB).
The Labyrint Audience Award arose from the Academic Year Prize, which is awarded annually for the best translation of scientific research to a broad audience.
On the website of the scientific television programme Labyrint, over 12,000 people voted for one of the five teams that were selected for the final. The research project on brain diseases 'Kies de aanval!', led by Professor Michel Ferrari and Gisela Terwindt, PhD., received by far the most votes.
On 21 December 'Kies de aanval!' will be the central theme of Labyrints television broadcast.
