The new Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation has identified nine so-called top sectors. The Life Sciences are identified as a subject the Netherlands excel in, and are therefore appointed top sector. The Ministry wishes to stimulate these sectors by focussing on the 'Golden Triangle' of industry, science and government, and promises to create a 'radical new form of public-private partnerships'.
